Vašek and Jožko

Vašek:

My dream of becoming a professional footballer didn't work out, but when you are connected to the sport, you can't give up on it. Jozek and I took up running intensively in 2012 and it has been a part of my life ever since. Born to Trail is a project of two friends who met in a college running club many years ago and went from college futsal to their first ultra race in 2020.

Jožko:

He is a lover of all kinds of sports, especially football, but also tennis, skiing and cycling. At one time he was the champion of the Košice region in javelin throw. After eternal problems with my knees, I hung up my cleats. In 2012 Vasek and I ran our first few laps in Žilina's Park Ľ. Štúr with the words - "aren't we overdoing it?" (pace 5:15 per km), then the first 10 km run and half marathon in Košice in 2013.

The beauty of our mountains, morning inversions and the sounds of nature enchanted me so much that the asphalt got trashed. My heart was won by forest trails, searching for new places and more or less hidden corners of Slovakia. And then came the idea of my friend who is my brother and Born to Trail was born :).
